Tipster Tuesday May 6 2014

We all get by with a little help from our friends, so with that in mind I am going to include items in today's blog that I find interesting or helpful.  They might be links to other religious blogs, they could be stories that have caught my attention, or just things I find funny or interesting.

In general I find Thom Rainer's blog to be interesting and insightful regarding church and how we do things:

Chris Tiegreen is a pastor and author of several devotions I find engaging and wonderful. His blog is the same, often insightful, sometimes hilarious, and usually pointed.  Once you start reading them, though, you may be hooked, fair warning:

Under the "here's why I don't freak about stories like Jesus having a wife" category:

Not faith-based in content, this article on gratitude is nonetheless interesting and points to some real bedrock truths:

And some words from the brilliant and gifted 20th century disciple C.S. Lewis:

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a whole lot harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.  - C. S. Lewis

Well, that's all for now, in hindsight.
